GoPro releases the GoPro 4, featuring 4K at 30, 25, and 24 FPS. Vincent Laforet took a moment to reflect on the cultural significance of this revolutionary line of cameras. In his write up entitled, “The GoPro & It\’s Place In History”, Laforet places the GoPro on a short list of cameras that have redefined the way that professional and amateur filmmakers alike interact with cameras and capturing video. Last year “GoPro accounted for over half of all video camera sales in the United States.” Unprecedented in their durability and portability, the cameras allow users to mount and then essentially forget about the device, fully immersing themselves in the moment instead of the image capturing process.
