BUT IT BEGAN AS AN INTERN

“Born in 1986 in Southern California, Aaron Lieber began his career as an Intern at TransworldSURF (TWS) in 2005, working as the assistant to the online editor, Justin Cote. His passion for surfing and commitment to the sport continued and only grew stronger and has characterized the growth and focus of the company. During his tenure at TWS, Lieber was busy editing Dustin Humphey’s photos for the bonus section on Taylor Steele’s Sipping Jetstreams DVD. It was also during this rookie year that Lieber secured funding for his first film, The Pursuit, through Studio 411.  Two years later the film was completed and at the same time he graduated with a BA in Communications from California State University, Long Beach. The Pursuit premiered in the USA and internationally and was the first surf film to be released on Blue Ray.   Needless to say, he was focused, had a clear vision, and IT WAS ON.

In late 2009, Nike Surfing recruited Lieber where his successes includes cinema photography work on the Nike chosen – Just Do It commercial, and the filming and editing of the all women’s surf film Leave A Message.  From there, the push continued with Zero To One Hundred – The Lakey Peterson Story, (#1 on iTunes Sports & featured on Netflix), music videos including AKON and Macklemore, filming with Zach Braff for Wish You Were Here, and slipping out of the office for the much needed surf sessions to keep the vision focused.  Currently, his favored projects include Bethany Hamilton’s Surf Like A Girl, Noah Beschen (The WILD), LifeProof’s 2015 campaign, Jeep collaboration commercial with the World Surf League and convincing major non-endemic brands to make compelling, authentic, inspiring content.” – Liberfilms®
